Join the SDAD team
If you’re passionate about arts and culture and have skills to share, consider joining the San Diego Art Directory team as an intern or volunteer. We appreciate volunteers with content creation, event coordination, and community outreach expertise.
Here are some areas where we could use your help:
WordPress management:
We have three websites that need constant management and moderation: sandiegoartdirectory.com, sandiegoartistnetwork.com, and intheartscene.com. The tasks include:
- moderating, optimizing, and publishing submitted listings on sandiegoartdirectory.com
- keep up with plugins and theme updates
- communicating with the users and helping them navigate the platforms and/or troubleshoot issues
Social media management:
We would love to expand our social media reach by adding unique content and utilizing various platforms.
- sharing published listings and other content published on our websites
- engaging with the audience
- following local arts and culture accounts and sharing their content in stories and re-mixes
We know that this is not an exhaustive list of things to do on social media. We are open to any creative ideas you can bring to the table!
Podcast production and management:
In The Art Scene Podcast is one of the most fun and creative projects we have! This can be a real treat for a creative team to work on.
- guest research, scheduling and follow-up communication
- audio editing and posting
- graphic design for the website and social media
- content creation for the show notes
- social media and other promotion
- video editing and YouTube management (we haven’t done it before, but it sounds like fun!)
Newsletter coordination:
As we are expanding, the newsletter needs to evolve to serve our audience better. We are working on creating multiple types of newsletters separated by topic and audience interests. This involves:
- keeping the record of the audience interests in the CRM and create email lists accordingly
- creating regular newsletters for each category and keeping track of the newsletter calendar
- tracking and analyzing the newsletters’ performance
If you have other ideas for how to make us better, please share! We are open to any suggestions!
