San Diego Artist Incubator Round 2 at Dear Tomorrow
Friday, November 6, 2026 | 5–9 PM
Dear Tomorrow
216 S. Tremont St., Oceanside, CA 92054
Five San Diego County artists come together at Dear Tomorrow in Oceanside for a one-night interdisciplinary presentation as part of San Diego Artist Incubator Round 2.
Artists Miki Vale, Miguel Galvan, Joe Cantrell, Cathy Carey, and Alexandra Carter bring together painting, dance, performance, sound, installation, technology, and storytelling. Rather than presenting the same exhibition at each of the program’s five venues, the artists respond to each space, its audience, and one another, allowing the collaboration to evolve as it moves across San Diego County.
The Oceanside presentation takes place in the historic 1908 C.B. Bishop Residence, now being transformed by Dear Tomorrow into a Community Art House. The intimate setting creates connections among art, storytelling, ecology, the house, its evolving garden, and the surrounding community.
Oceanside artist Cathy Carey will present work from her Systems of Awareness series, which explores perception, ecology, creativity, and connection through imagery drawn from Southern California landscapes and ecosystems. Pollinators, flowers, pathways, spirals, and shifting light become visual metaphors for interdependence and exchange.
Carey will also give visitors pollinator seed packets featuring imagery from her paintings. Guests are invited to plant the seeds at home, becoming participants in the collaboration as something that began as an idea in a painting continues outward into gardens and communities across San Diego County.
Participating Artists: Miki Vale, Miguel Galvan, Joe Cantrell, Cathy Carey, and Alexandra Carter
San Diego Artist Incubator Round 2 is funded, in part, by the City of San Diego and the California Arts Council.
