Painting the Poetry of the Landscape Workshop with Rose Irelan at Ilan-Lael

Never be without inspiration again. By approaching landscape painting through the lens of design and poetic intention, you’ll learn to see endless possibilities for creating meaningful and personal works of art. Whether you already have a clear vision or are searching for one, this workshop will help you uncover and develop your own unique artistic voice.

Rose will be teaching and demonstrating in oils, but artists working in any medium are welcome.

We will be working indoors in one of the beautiful studios at Ilan-Lael, providing an inspiring setting for creativity and learning.

This workshop is an excellent precursor to Rose’s Plein Air Landscape Workshop later this year. Rose combines solid classical painting principles—handed down through centuries of artistic tradition—with insights gained from more than 30 years of professional experience in design and painting.

In this workshop, you will learn:

• How to generate original ideas and inspiration for landscape painting
• Principles of composition and design
• Color relationships and color mixing
• Classical painting concepts that strengthen visual storytelling
• How to create paintings with greater intention, meaning, and poetic expression
