Nature’s Path- Exploring the Natural World through Footsteps

"Nature's Path- Exploring the Natural World through Footsteps" is a solo exhibit by local artist Laura Green at the Rancho Bernardo Library.

Laura Green is an acrylic painter focusing on the diverse ecosystem of the San Diego area. "Introducing my children to the natural world with hiking has been a great inspiration for my art," says Green. "We have learned to identify local species and really connect with where we live."

The exhibit "Nature's Path" shows human figures on journeys. "Landscape paintings are traditionally empty and devoid of humans, and this can be traced back to colonial times where Europeans envisioned the "new world" as empty of human civilization. This is, of course, not true, and I like to show children in my paintings because it will take human stewardship to protect vulnerable areas," says Green.

The exhibit features local nature areas from around the county, perhaps you will recognize your favorite place, or be inspired to find a new one.
