Enjoy delicious food, sip wine, and immerse yourself in an evening of art, culture, and conversation.
Ed Whitmore’s art captures the beauty of transformation, using oxidized iron, copper, and bronze paints to mirror the passage of time. By accelerating the patina process, he creates striking, organic textures on wood, evoking a sense of history and change. Deeply influenced by his family’s experience as Holocaust survivors, his work explores themes of loss, resilience, and renewal, inviting viewers to reflect on the delicate balance between creation and decay.
A longtime member of our JCC community, Whitmore’s connection spans generations. His children grew up at Camp Jaycee, and now his grandchildren carry on the tradition—performing in JCompany, swimming with the Barracudas, and making memories in the very halls he has walked for over 30 years.
