Call for Entries: Where We Stand

Submissions are now open for Where We Stand, a juried photography exhibition exploring the political and geographic realities of life in the San Diego–Tijuana border region.

Submission Deadline: February 28, 2026
Exhibition Dates: March 27 – April 19, 2026
Opening Reception: March 28, 2026
Location: MCASD, La Jolla

This exhibition invites photographers working throughout the region to document, question, and reflect on the landscapes we inhabit — literal, social, and conceptual — and how they shape lived experience. Work may engage themes of place, identity, border dynamics, migration, belonging, infrastructure, or spatial politics through any photographic approach.

The exhibition will be juried by Alessandra Moctezuma and Patricio A. Chávez, whose curatorial perspectives bring deep engagement with cross-border and contemporary art practices.

Photographers at all stages of their careers — established artists, emerging creators, and students — are encouraged to apply.
