Born in San Diego, CA., I have worked as an artist for (40) forty years since 1986. For the last thirty years creating: "Photographic Artistry” , Photography & Digital art, Photo Composite Collages, Portraits for People & Pets and Graphic Design Projects.
From 1986-1996 I created 3D/2D mixed media sculptural wood relief wall artwork, selling my art & operating 3 art studios at the beautiful “Spanish Village Art Center”, located in Balboa Park in San Diego, CA.
Creating art is a process of alchemy for me, from darkness into brilliant radiant light, exposing and celebrating the hidden and exposed emotional responses into bold colorful compositions, where imaginary takes a journey full of discovery.
Step one is the concept, then I gather all my imagery that will make it "real" for the viewer that leads them through the composition. That requires many layers of individual photographs that I composite (removing the background from around a selected object), in Photoshop software, to finally blend all images into an environment that feels like a place you can walk into and explore.
For the vast majority of my artwork I take my own digital photographs using a Canon 5D Mark II and Photoshop software, including using some mixed media painting techniques.
