Ana María Herrera is an installation and conceptual assemblage artist based in the San Diego–Tijuana border region. Her practice focuses on hybrid works created with discarded materials, found objects, textiles, and painting, exploring material memory, presence, and the beauty of imperfection. Through materially driven structures and contemplative assemblages, her work examines the body, territory, and what persists beyond use and abandonment, creating experiences activated by the viewer’s presence rather than direct interaction.
